One day I think I’ll lend a hand, but right now I need a new plasma TV, 2009
One of 2 channel film with sound 18 mins.

In this work a group of everyday people, positioned in a grid formation perform simple and repetitive synchronised movements to original music, re-performing the actions of the artist screened on a TV in front of them.

This work was performed during an artist residency at the Künstlerdorf in Schöppingen, Germany, and saw relationships built across a diverse group of local residents and refugees from the Middle East and Africa. This social outcome evolved from the rehearsal, where individuals grouped themselves with like-minded and like-dressed people according to what felt safe and familiar. Four weeks later at an exhibition showing the artworks from this project, the performers greeted each other warmly and generously re-living their experiences.

This work was adapted and performed at Sydney Artfair in 2009.

The project includes 2 x two channel films with sound and photographs.
